I also developed and have sold my own notes based product called "Field Force Automation". It is featured
on my web site, and I did almost all the planning, and development myself.

Migration Planning:

I have done several migrations of customers from Notes V3 to V4. (There are a lot of reasons to go
straight to version 4.5 now).

Doing good migration involves planning the transition, and any possible glitches which can be encountered
such as:
* Mail compatibility from 3 to 4
* Templates which may be in version 4 and not run on V3.
* V3 template getting converted to version 4 before users have V4 clients.
* Setting up new networking, protocols, and client workstations in some cases.
* Training and supporting users on the differences

There are plenty of other issues, but it is a common need.

Since most installations I have done were new customer sites, and I have grown those from nothing to hundreds
of users, I guess the largest migration I did was at Hughes-DTVI

This was a user base of about 140, which I transitioned and grew to several hundred and from one site to seven
sites. The main planning involved the issues listed above, and providing good user support during transition.
